PVC Care Guide - Top Tips On How To Care For & Clean Your Baby Changing Mat
Although most things wipe off, our PVC changing mats (Anti-Roll and Oval Basket) are not completely stain-resistant.
Our changing mats are expertly manufactured using waterproof PVC, which is free of BPA and phthalates, so you can have peace of mind that they are safe on a baby's delicate skin. All of our changing mat products are filled with our British-made nursery-grade foam, which is free from TCPP and toxic fire retardants such as phosphorus and antimony. They are all hand-made in England and have undergone stringent testing to comply with all relevant British legislation.
Why do we use PVC on our changing mats? The specialised non-toxic PVC is the best material that is fit for purpose, practical, and, more importantly, certified as safe for use with newborns, babies, and children. This soft-to-touch PVC fabric is wipeable and waterproof, ready for you and your tiny one to enjoy fuss-free nappy changes.
Our changing mats are in constant use; changing mats are versatile and can be used for a variety of purposes, including drying your baby after bath time or even for baby massage.
The usual stain-causing suspects are unavoidable poo explosions, especially when left to soil, felt tips, ballpoint pens, dye from baby bibs/clothes, and the list goes on. Here are some top tips to assist in keeping your PVC anti-roll changing mat or basket changing mat clean.
Anti-Roll Changing Mats - Top tips on how to clean:
- We recommend only using warm soapy water or baby wipes to clean your changing mat.
- We do not recommend antibacterial cleaning fluids or chemicals containing bleach, as this can cause discoloration and weaken the fabric, which will lead to breaking or cracking of the fabric over time.
- Keep out of continuous, direct sunlight, as this may fade the print pattern over time or can lead to weakening of the material, which can lead to tears.
- Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
- Do not leave stains to soil like stains from nappy rash creams, as this can cause staining and discoloration.
- Our changing mats are made from flexible, high-quality PVC that will last the test of time; however, with regular or improper use, as with any changing mat, they may become subject to wear and tear.

Store your changing mat away after each use (without anything on top of it).
